Brian Marsh OBE, Founder of B.P. Marsh, served as Executive Chairman from 1990 to 2025. Following his retirement from executive duties, he remains on the Board as a Non-Executive Chairman, continuing to provide valuable insight and continuity drawn from many decades of leadership and experience.

Dan Topping is the Chief Executive Officer of B.P. Marsh, with overall responsibility for the leadership, strategic direction and long-term performance of the Group. He works closely with the Board, Investment Directors and management team to drive value creation across the portfolio, leadership and strategic development of the Company, whilst remaining involved in delivering new opportunities and active portfolio company involvement.

Dan joined B.P. Marsh in 2007 and was appointed to the Board as a Director in 2011. He became Chief Investment Officer in January 2016, during which he led the execution of the Group’s investment strategy. During this period, Dan worked on several notable investments, including Besso, CBC, Kentro, Lilley Plummer Risk and SSRU, with further details available here. He also oversaw 26 new investments and 11 realisations, generating significant returns for the Company. His near two decades of experience with the group provides a strong foundation for his leadership as CEO, ensuring continuity of strategy and disciplined capital allocation.

Dan graduated from Durham University in 2005 and is a fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments.

Francesca joined B.P. Marsh in January 2013 and has played a key role in B.P. Marsh’s financial operations ever since. Francesca qualified as an ACCA accountant in July 2018 and, in August 2023, achieved Fellowship status with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).

In 2024, Francesca was appointed Chief Finance Officer of B.P. Marsh, where she leads the Finance Department, overseeing all financial functions and ensuring B.P. Marsh’s continued financial and strategic growth.

Alice is Chief Operating Officer of B.P. Marsh, having been appointed to the role in December 2025 following ten years as Managing Director of the Company.

As Chief Operating Officer, Alice is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the business and for ensuring the effective execution of the Company’s strategy. She oversees operational performance and internal processes, working closely with the Board and Senior Management.

Alice plays a key role in driving operational efficiency, monitoring performance, and ensuring that the Company operates within a strong governance and control framework.

A Certified Accountant, Pankaj Lakhani has over 30 years’ experience in the Financial Services sector, primarily within Lloyd’s and overseas insurance broking and underwriting markets. Having started his career in 1977 as Audit Manager for Ball Baker Leake (now part of PKF), Pankaj then worked for a number of Lloyd’s insurance broking and underwriting firms during this time, including a 20 year tenure as Financial Director of Victor O. Schinnerer & Co Ltd (trading as Admiral/Encon Underwriting Agencies).

Nicholas Carter, aged 76, has over 50 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s Insurance Market. Nick held a variety of positions within Nelson Hurst & Marsh Limited, Citicorp Insurance Brokers and Nelson Hurst Plc acting as Chairman of the Professional Indemnity division of the latter between 1994 and 1999. Between 1999 and 2012, Nick was a consultant with both Alexander Forbes Pty. Ltd and Prime Professions Ltd.

Oliver joined the Company in 2011, and is currently an Investment Director, acting as the Company's Nominee Director on the Boards of  Sage Program Underwriters, Inc, Stewart Specialty Risk Underwriting Ltd, LEBC Holdings Limited and Devonshire UW Limited. Oliver is also on the Board of B.P. Marsh & Company, and works within the Investment Department, in structuring, developing, supporting and monitoring the portfolio.

Oliver graduated from the University of Manchester with an honours degree, and is also a Graduate of the Chartered Governance Institute.

Abi joined the Company in 2013, and is currently an Investment Director, acting as the Company’s Nominee Director on the Boards of Volt UW Limited, The Fiducia MGA Company Limited, XPT Specialty Limited and Ai Marine Risk Limited, as well having a particular focus on the Company’s investments in Australia. Abi is also on the Board of B.P. Marsh & Company, and works within the Investment Department, in structuring, developing, supporting and monitoring the portfolio.

Abi graduated from University of Manchester in 2013 and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments.

Sophia joined B.P. Marsh in March 2020, having graduated from Newcastle University with an honours degree. In 2024, Sophia was appointed as Associate Director, acting as the Company’s Nominee Director on the Board of New Denison Limited. Sophia has completed the Chartered Insurance Institute Award in London Market Insurance and has received the CISI Certificate in Corporate Finance.

Patrick joined B.P. Marsh in October 2022, having graduated from the University of Sydney with an Honours degree in Medical Science. As an Investment Associate, Patrick supports the Chief Investment Officer and the wider Investment Department with their duties, with a particular focus on new business enquiries. Patrick is currently studying for the Chartered Insurance Institute Award in London Market Insurance.

Alex joined B.P. Marsh in July 2025, having graduated from the University of Nottingham with an Honours degree in Economics. As an Investment Associate, Alex supports the Chief Executive Officer and the wider Investment Department with their duties, with a particular focus on new business enquiries. Alex has completed the Chartered Insurance Institute Award in London Market Insurance and is studying for the Association of Chartered Certified Accounts.

Eila joined B.P. Marsh in October 2025 as an Investment Assistant, having graduated from the University of Exeter in 2023. Eila’s day-to-day role includes providing administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer and Investment Department.

Michelle is a Chartered Certified Accountant and is responsible for managing the Group’s statutory accounts process and also assists, together with the Group Management Accountant, with the day-to-day running of the Group’s Finance department, supporting the Group Finance Director. Michelle joined B.P. Marsh in 2007 having graduated from Kingston University with a degree in Geography in 2001 and starting her accountancy career in public practice, initially for a year as a graduate trainee at Kingston Smith, followed by five years at Blinkhorns Accountants where she qualified as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Feroz joined B.P. Marsh in January 2025. Feroz is a Chartered Certified Accountant with over 10 years of experience working in public practice and industry. Feroz is responsible for carrying out various tasks within the finance department to ensure smooth running of the department.

Ruth joined B.P. Marsh as General Counsel and Group Company Secretary in 2025, where she supports the Board of Directors to ensure corporate governance and compliance standards are maintained. Ruth is a qualified solicitor and a Fellow of the Corporate Governance Institute of UK and Ireland, with over 15 years’ experience in the financial services and asset management industry.

Ruth began her legal career at Simmons & Simmons, qualifying as a solicitor and progressing to managing associate within the firm’s banking team. In 2016, she joined LendInvest at their Series A investment stage. As their first in-house lawyer, she established and led the company’s legal, risk, compliance, and governance functions, listing the business on AIM in 2021.

Leah joined B.P. Marsh in August 2023, having graduated with a first-class Honours Bachelor of Science degree. Leah’s day-to-day role involves handling investor relations matters and supporting related functions that overlap with the Company Secretarial Department. 

Jasmine joined the B.P. Marsh team in May 2018 as Office Assistant with a background of both Accounting and Sales experience. Jasmine graduated from University of Chichester in 2016 with a BA (Hons) Business & Management: Accounting and Finance degree. Jasmine’s day-to-day role includes assisting the Chairman’s Office and supporting the wider teams with their duties.
