In July 2002 the Group invested in Berkeley (Insurance) Holdings, a company that had in 1998 gained independence from Hambros bank through an MBO. Berkeley is a “broker’s broker”, providing its clients with independent advice on the most suitable choice of insurance broker in specialist as well as mainstream insurance areas. With their skill, knowledge and experience gathered over many years, they nominate an insurance broker to provide the client with the cover that responds most effectively to their requirements.
